Fremantle Markets has rightfully earned itself a reputation as one of the best destinations in Fremantle for locals and tourists alike, as well as a leading source of independent wares and produce. It’s undoubtedly one of the best and most well-known markets in Western Australia. The market has a long and rich history, stemming all the way back to the nineteenth century, with everything from local produce, organic goods, artisan and indigenous wares, and music, events and performances housed under one roof. Stepping inside the Fremantle Markets is encountering over a hundred years of vibrant culture and heritage.

But more than simply being a historic site, Fremantle Markets also houses a family of stall-holders. Click here to view the Morish Nuts stall.

From encouraging young local talent such as designers and artists, launching the careers of budding musicians who entertain the crowds within, creating a hub of events for visitors, to supporting local producers, suppliers, sellers and independent family businesses, the Market has established its reputation through close links with the Fremantle and Western Australian community.

Entering the Market is experiencing the best of what WA and Fremantle have to offer. Step right in and you’ll be greeted with the irresistible waft of home-brewed coffee and tea. Walk a few steps and listen to the distinctive sounds of the beloved market buskers. Then comes the difficult task of choosing between the delicious array of fresh local produce, organic foods and independent eateries. Finally, cast your eye to the bright talent of local artists and designers, where a variety of goods such as painting, photography, jewellery, cosmetics, clothing, accessories, home-wares and others, await your selection.

Inside the Fremantle Markets, you’ll enjoy the distinctive atmosphere of over a hundred years of vibrant culture and heritage.
